Grand Prairie is a city in Dallas County, with a significant overlap into Tarrant County, and a minor overlap into Ellis County. As of 2005, the population is estimated to be over 144,000. The median income for a household in the city was $46,816. GPISD is a 58-square mile district serving more than 23,000 students within the Dallas County portion of Grand Prairie. Adjacent to the marina, the Oasis, a floating restaurant, overlooks the waters of the lake and serves up delicious fare and beverages.
