Plano
Plano is a city located in north Dallas mainly within Collin
County, but also extending into Denton County. It is a suburb of
Dallas and according to the 2000 U.S. Census, has a population
was 222,030, making it the ninth largest city in Texas and the
seventieth most populous city in the United States. Five years
after in the 2005 census estimate, it had already grown by another
30,000.
Plano is home to many corporate headquarters, including
Cadbury Schweppes, Ericsson, Perot Systems, Electronic Data Systems
(EDS), Frito-Lay, Cinemark Theatres, and JC Penney. There
are many high quality apartments in Plano . PLANO has a healthy

apartments. Plano also has a large number of semiconductor and
telecommunications companies due in part to its proximity to the

Aikman and Deion Sanders, former Dallas Cowboy players, Ross Perot,
businessman and two-time presidential candidate, and Lance Armstrong,
seven-time Tour de France winner. Plano has loft apartments, townhouse
style apartments, and apartments with hardwood or concrete flooring.
Plano features several parks that include playgrounds, bicycling
trains and two nature preserves. It is one of fifteen cities
in the area that opts into the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)
public transportation system, which enjoys heavy usage by people
commuting to work elsewhere in DFW. Plano’s schools are served
by the Plano ISD. In 2006, Plano ISD announced that 115 seniors
were selected as National Merit Semifinalists, the largest in the
district’s history. Plano is also home to two campuses of
the Collin County Community College District and the SMU campus
in Legacy.
