Richardson, a suburb of Dallas county, is located about twenty
miles north of the city of Dallas, Texas. The city is nicknamed
the “Telecom Corridor” for its significant employment
centers where more than 80,000 people work each day. These centers include
Texas Instruments, Nortel, Ericsson, Alcatel, Tellabs,
Texas Instruments, and Southwestern
Bell (now AT&T).
As of 2000, the population of Richardson was 91,802 people.
There

a hub for many theater and symphonic performances in the Dallas
area. The city is also home to three of the Dallas Area
Rapid Transit’s light rail stations.
